Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team

Healthy cohesive and productive teams are where employees thrive and organizations win.

WHY?

Leaders need teams that can overcome the challenges and seize the opportunities required for success in the competitive marketplace. Team dynamics, office politics, and dysfunction are obstacles that cohesive and effective teams can overcome to go beyond the ordinary to achieve organizational goals.

Problem

  • Dysfunction is inevitable based on human imperfection and a wide range of team dynamics and personalities

  • Leaders and organizations may not know how to build effective or cohesive teams

  • Leaders and organizations may not recognize the team dynamics that contribute to dysfunction and result in lack of efficiency and effectiveness

  • Leaders and organizations may lack trust or have a lack of productive dialogue or an avoidance of accountability that leads to inattention, disconnection, and poor results

Based on the work of Patrick Lencioni, this workshop includes an assessment taken by each member of the team to understand themselves as well as the way that their team is functioning and then to identify areas of improvement and implement changes in order to maximize the team's performance. The team will be assessed on each of the five behaviors of trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results, and individuals will be assessed to determine how their personality or style contributes to the team dynamics.

Dr. Rader has been working with Safety Technology International for several years.
Her commitment to listen to and follow some of the values that began with the founder Jack Taylor and to carry on what would be important to him has meant a great deal to the family and management team.
Forty-two years later his legacy and the commitment to carry on STI's commitment to excellence with our staff and to carry on his mission of quality products and exceptional customer service and to protect the things that protect you, never forgetting you can Rely on STI.

When Martha first started consulting we began reviewing our current--yet outdated mission statement and core values. We quickly learned the importance of developing a more updated approach based on STI’s current environment. After working very closely for months with the entire staff and our development committee, we were proud to roll out our new core values. Innovation, Integrity, One Team, Quality, Work Ethic, and Accountability. Her guidance and support have helped to align the team and drive us toward our goals.

The program that truly impacted us was the DiSC style. During this assessment, we learned how each person’s style impacts inner company relationships and how to work better as one team. The ongoing leadership and workforce development workshops have had a positive impact in many ways and with our teams.

For me personally, it has helped me be more aware, to communicate, and to collaborate more effectively, which has also helped to reduce conflict and be more productive. The DiSC assessment is truly the most effective tool I’ve learned in my professional career. It has been an eye-opener and has made a difference.

Dr. Rader with her many years of experience, has been instrumental in moving us closer to our goals here at STI. I look forward to having her as part of the family for years to come.
